This book is the culmination of over 30 years experimentation, practice, teaching and working with skins, leather and a sacred approach to roadkill.
Morning star has discovered in her years living close to nature, that if one is meant to have medicine tools created from the creatures of the earth, they will find you in Divine timing - as everything that lives breathes and walks this plane of existence, will one day - kick the bucket, fall of the perch, kark it, push up daisies, leave its garment of flesh or to put it simply - die! If you are blessed to have a creature depart its earthly form in your presence, then the preparation and creation of its form is the highest honour one can perform for the life of that creature. Thus allowing its teachings, medicine and wisdom to live on through the one honouring its life. In this time of spiritual awakening we are often times - 'off with the fairies' ungrounded and not really here, creating in a scacred way, brings us back to the earth, so we can assist all to see heaven already assists on earth - it is only our minds and perceptions that cloud us to this reality.
Morning Star was guided by a seer in Tamworth, NSW Australia, to begin sleeping with a crystal on her solar plexus. This resulted in her waking each morning, sitting at the computer and writing the pages contained within this book. She then began to find roadkill on her way to work, beginning with birds, snakes, a young fox and skulls while walking in the bush. As each chapter was being written, the earth sent each creature in order for it to be honoured, blessed, prepared, cleansed and created into the items photographed for this publication. In this way nature is able to work through her to show what she has learnt through spending a lifetime sitting in nature and listening with her heart.
